As you might expect, Surfrider is staying close to the emerging field of wave energy. In almost every instance to date that means near-shore mechanisms that are designed to try and capture energy from waves.
In this instance Ken-ichi Horie, Japanese inventor/innovator has created a boat that outdoes his solar-powered boat. It also outdoes the catamaran he constructed from found materials, including 528 beer kegs welded end-to-end.
This one is a wave-powered boat. Wow.
