This is what a healthy coast looks like

When I think of an image that captures our new strategic plan vision something very close to the above comes to mind.

I like it because the beach is accessible, it’s clean and looks natural. The water seems clean (at least to the naked eye). I also love that there is a sense of enjoyment inferred with the outrigger canoe.

If you look a bit more closely you’ll see a man-made structure in the background so… it actually isn’t a perfect representation of a healthy coast. The truth is that I don’t think there is a beach on the planet that is pristine… there are probably samples of man-made elements on every beach (whether that is a discarded plastic bottle or a sea wall).

    healthy coast? Are you kidding??????

  2. Mike,

That jetty doesn’t look very natural to me either. There is still lots of work to do… :)

  3. Jim,

I agree and that was kind of my point. I was offering a juxtaposition to the other photos but also trying to point out this isn’t healthy due to the visible development.
